Final film uploaded

Final movie completed with sound by Marius Mathazzar who did an awesome job in such a short time. www.mathazaar.com
Overall im happy i managed to complete the film however im not happy with the quality in many of the shots, I had to compromise alot to get the final sequences done, animation in particular suffered alot, and certain elements are more obviously unfinished then others.

BETA uploaded

Its taken alot of heartache but managed to get most scenes done for the BETA, I have various polishing left to do planned, adjust a few animations (particuraly the hand shot) and hopefuly work on backgrounds a bit more.

Its been a while, but some good progress has come along, most of my scenes are setup and am slowly animating and rendering what I have. Heres the first shot with compositing (for some reason vimeo has made the video appear ALOT darker then it should be, ill have to look into that)

Begun modelling and texturing the Hut, for the most part the hut is nearly complete however changes and additional assets are yet to be modelled. This render also serves as a lighting test for the many outdoor night environments. Right now the key lights appear far too strong in my opinion but further adjusting and refering to lectureres should help when I come to the final lighting setups

Fusion environment Comp testing

Heres a test of the beginning sequence for the film, where the Jin are looking over the main character. Im experimenting with colour correction and the ethereal effects, it varies from my initial concept however I quite like the direction this test. The reds give it a slightly more menacing look that I wanted. The ground smoke has yet to be worked out properly, and theres a few more effects like depth of field I wish to try still. The lightbeam was created using the VolLight macro for fusion.

Rig start

Just finished the basic rigs for all the characters, heres a look at Rens rig which has all the basic controls I need including custom attributes for the foot controllers and fully Iked legs and arms.

Heres an update on the Ren character fully textured now, Im hoping iv achieved a semi realistic yet stylised look. The characters cheeks may be to red at the moment and i still want to fix a few problem areas..but overall this is the Ren character finished.

Demon Comp test

Just started experimenting with the demon characters for my film. This is a very quick test trying to play around with the look of the demons and how ill actualy go about compositing the effect in Fusion, luckily its given me a better idea of how to approach it.

First Previz draft

Heres my previz so far, im hoping to change a few shots around over the next couple days however

And heres the 2 main environment concepts I have so far. The scale of the environments is my main concern at the moment however I plan to get around problem areas with some clever matte painting, or staging the camera well. Ill most likely use the previz terrain as a basis for the final environment sets.





Got both characters modeled and am in the process of texturing them at the moment. I have decided to go for a semi realistic style, I hope to experiment with shaders to help achieve this. I also want to avoid realistic zbrushing and normal maps and work on handpainted diffuse and specular maps to help sell the stylised appearance.
